Creating Hope: Confronting Dementia with Meaningful Action 9.28.2023
The Rev’d Dr. D. Jonathan Grieser, Rector of Grace Episcopal Church, in Madison, WI, sent a flyer for an event in September in Chippewa Falls, that introduces people to the Respite for All Foundation to bring their 4-hour respite program for people with dementia to Wisconsin. It’s a faith-based program operating in church buildings and staffed by volunteers, with one paid person organizing it. The organizer, Susan McFadden, is a retired UW Oshkosh Psychology Professor. Rev’d Grieser’s wife brought Susan McFadden to UW Madison to speak to her class (Religion, Sickness, and Health in Global Perspective) and the public about her work exploring spirituality and people living with dementia.
