Vestry Meeting Highlights – July

Zoom Meeting July 20 2020 6:00 p.m.

Financials: Contributions were down in June but YTD are still on target. Expenses for the Dean search, heating & cooling have been under budget. The Vestry voted unanimously to pay down the 2019 apportionment arrearage by $2,000. We continue to be current with 2020 apportionment.

Vestry Check In: The Vestry continues to discuss ways to improve communications as the pandemic continues. A face to face parish meeting is preferred by all but is not yet a safe alternative. Information regarding the Dean search and re-opening the Cathedral for in-person worship will be communicated through another letter from the Vestry. Update: Letter was mailed July 24, 2020.

Columbarium: Fr. Benjamin met with a small group to discuss placement of the new columbarium. The Vestry approved moving the current columbarium (Bundy Hall) to the back of the Chapel.

Reopening in person worship: The Diocesan Task Force recommended that we not open for in-person Sunday service until the Covid cases in Eau Claire County have plateaued or are declining. The Vestry decided to continue to review this on a monthly basis.

Newsletter: Information is currently disseminated by weekly email update, the website, Facebook, and Sunday slides before Zoom Morning Prayer. The Vestry will offer a hard copy option to those unable to receive email in the letter being sent (see Vestry Check In).
