Bishop’s Journal – Final Edition November 27, 2020
Dear Sister and Brother Clergy,
May Ruth and I and our son, Alex, had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday. We were a small group but had a good time. I hope your Thanksgiving was a good one. In spite of the pandemic and other problems, there remains much in our nation for which we can all be thankful.
I will lead my last Evening Prayer service this Sunday at 6 pm on Zoom. The homily and discussion will be based upon Matthew 25:1-13. Jesus tells the parable of the ten bridesmaids. Five had sufficient oil for their lamps. Five did not. The meeting number each week is 98552275083. The password is: 869812. The clergy of the Diocese will continue to meet on Zoom on Fridays at 10 am. The meeting number each week is 9872918037. The password is: 383734.
I wish all of you God’s blessings as you transition away from me as your bishop effective December 1 and towards Matt Gunter being your bishop provisional effective January 1. I know you will continue to develop as a diocese in the ways God intends. As for me, I leave with great thanks for all the ways you have supported me through these years. You are a wonderful group.
The most recent data regarding Covid-19 cases is posted below. The numbers are increasingly worse. This chart shows the total cases by county and the number of cases in the last four weeks. I thank Jo Glasser for continuing to provide Covid-19 county by county. In this chart she includes the parishes in their respective counties.
Take care and may God bless you always! With my love and best wishes I remain,
Your brother in Christ,
Jay
