Letter from Father Scott Kirby

Dear and Special Friends at Christ Church Cathedral:

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the prayers, cards, phone calls, and emails that you have so graciously sent to Cheryl and me at the death of my son and her brother. Robert had a special and abiding place in our hearts and in our lives and his passing has created a deep and painful hole in our lives and in our hearts. Since Heather is now living in a world where memory is not an option, we have not troubled her life with the reality of Robert’s death.

The family – his three children and two grandchildren, Cheryl, and I – decided that at this time travel would not be safe. We will hopefully gather in the coming summer in Colorado and scatter a portion of Robert’s ashes in the mountains that he so loved and where he died.

Final details of Robert’s death are still incomplete, so your continuing prayers and love are so very important to us – we need them and you to be with us.

Thank you again for being so close and caring to Cheryl and me at this time. Words simply cannot carry the deep gratitude we have for your support and presence in so many ways.

Faithfully,
Father Scott Kirby
