Vestry Meeting Highlights – August 2022

Vestry Members: Mike Carlson (Sr. Warden), Gary Hjelm (Jr Warden), Ellen Allison, Marc Christianson, Elaine Ellenson, Ron Hall, Becky Van Es.

Financial Report: Offerings YTD are over budget, expenses are over budget YTD primarily due to snow removal, apportionment, and utilities.

Dean Search:  The Search Committee continues to evaluate candidates.

Buildings & Grounds: The landscaping in the Bell Tower courtyard has been completed! This project was completely funded by your generosity ~ THANK YOU! We hope that you take some time to come and see the finished product. The security system is completely installed; the new sensors are in place in the elevator vestibule and the new alley door has been installed. We have cameras on all entrances, and our tenants can have virtual eyes on the door and allow access to their business remotely. 

502 S. Farwell: We are committed to continue to be the home of the Warming/Cooling Center through April 2023. The Vestry continues to evaluate the future of this building.

Newcomers / Visitors / Absent Parishioners: Committee met and went through the membership list; they are sending out notes.

Diocesan Convention: The Cathedral will host the annual Diocesan Convention on November 11-12, 2022. Stay tuned for opportunities to be involved.

Sunday School: Plans for Sunday school in the fall are being discussed. If you are interested in serving on the important ministry, please contact your Vestry or Fr. Benjamin.

Buildings & Grounds: A new security door was installed in the Wilson Building and the one for 502 S. Farwell will be installed soon. We need to install an external mailbox for the church and tenants of the Wilson Building. The Columbarium area is complete and the contract is with the attorney for review. Painting was approved for the vestibule between the Memorial Lounge and the Cathedral.
