Prayer Shawl Sunday and Winter Scarf Collection for Luke 3:11 Project

This Sunday, January 22 is Prayer Shawl Sunday. Prayer shawls will be blessed by clergy, and them members and visitors are invited to take a shawl after the service if you know someone in need of comfort and strength, or celebrating a special occasion. Please write the recipient’s name in our journal so that we can include them in our prayers.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry’s love and prayers are woven into each shawl as they are created. We give our shawls as a gift of love and concern for those who need solace, for thanksgiving, or as a blessing of celebration.

Luke 3:11 Project Donation:
The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been knitting scarves during the past few months to donate to the Luke 3:11 Project and has invited parish members to join us in our efforts. Please bring any knitted or purchased winter scarves to church on Sunday. They will be blessed and then the Prayer Shawl Ministry will donate them to the Like 3:11 Project. They will distribute our donations to people in need who are financially unable to purchase them on their own.

The next Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting is Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00 PM. We are a not only a parish ministry, but also a community ministry. We invite and encourage new members to join us. If you’re unable to attend our monthly meetings you can drop your shawls off in the parish office or we can make arrangements to get them from you. Please join us!
